Chair of the Planning Committee
I came to work in Chobham in 1953 and have lived here since 1960. I served on the Parish Council from 2005 to 2007, and then from 2011 to 2015 and am pleased to be elected to serve again.
The unique character of Chobham, which is influenced by its wonderful Common, is something I care about and hope to uphold. The Common should I believe, remain open and unenclosed for the enjoyment of all.
Equestrians make a considerable contribution to the economy of the village and with the decline of horticulture and agriculture in the area, most of the land now accommodates grazing horses which I believe, if properly managed, is the best alternative use and helps to retain the rural atmosphere.
